Description

16 inch X 16 inch X 16 inch inside dimensions acrylic vacuum chamber is made of clear acrylic which is fully transparent enabling a full view of chamber interior during operation. This is a complete clear acrylic vacuum chamber; assembled and ready for use. It comes with a vacuum gauge, two valves, one handle, and a hinged side door. The vacuum gauge and the two valves are placed on the right side wall (looking from front); however, they can be moved anywhere else as per your request free of charge but you must let us know within 2 days after you have ordered your chamber where you want your valves placed.

A Vacuum chamber can also be used as a Desiccator cabinet. Common applications include vacuum testing, vacuum product testing, degassing, defoaming, mixing liquids, bubble leak testing, vacuum sealing, vacuum drying, vacuum encapsulation, vacuum joining, vacuum impregnation, atmospheric testing and simulation, biological tests or storing samples under sustained low and intermediate vacuums.

Please note that plastic material is permeable; therefore, acrylic chambers as such may not maintain a stable vacuum level over extended period of time. For stable vacuum levels in this chamber, it is advisable to either leave the vacuum line or pump constantly connected to this chamber or add a vacuum controller to control vacuum levels.

Internal Pressurization ASTM F2096 Leak Testing Systems
Internal Pressurization (ASTM F2096) Leak Testing Systems are instruments that are used during the Quality Control process to discover leaks in sealed packages. As opposed to the vacuum bubble leak test, where the specimen is subjected to a vacuum, the internal pressurization integrity test creates a pressure difference and drives the air through a leak by internally pressurizing the specimen. Our Internal Pressurization Leak Testing Systems are designed and built to conform to the ASTM F2096 Protocol Standard.
Wire Vacuum Feedthroughs
Wire Vacuum Feedthroughs are wires that are run from the outside of the chamber towards the inside of the vacuum chamber. We carry a wide variety of wires and wire gauges that can be used with any vacuum chamber.
Our Work: Bubble Leak Testing System with a Dry off Sink used for Leak Testing Large Bags
How do you leak test Large Food Bags? This is the same question a Large Food and Beverage Processor had asked themselves because they had need for a bubble leak testing system which could be used to detect presence of leaks in their large bags. Their requirements were to test several sized bags with the largest bag being 24 inches Wide by 12 inch Deep by 9 inches High. In addition to the bubble leak testing system, they also needed a way to dry the bags after the test.

Products Quality

Our Acrylic Vacuum Chambers come with a one year warranty and our quality promise. The Chambers are robust and designed to be operated frequently for several years and are the result of years of continuous improvement, research, design, and development.

The ruggedized chamber walls are fabricated through our acrylic interlocking technology using specifically formulated vacuum glue-epoxy. Our adhesion expertise is one of our many trade secrets we utilize to build our chambers. This commitment to engineering excellence results in our acrylic vacuum chambers being so durable where issues such as deflection, beveling, collapsing, or wall separation are completely eliminated.

The 3 ports on this chamber are connected through threaded Aluminum Ports to a KF25/NW25 vacuum bulkhead fitting located on the acrylic wall or lid. This means that we do not thread into acrylic; hence the risk of cracking/crazing of threads over time is non-existent. Additionally, our acrylic chamber can easily be coupled to a KF25/NW25 vacuum connection.

We offer an amazing vacuum spec on this chamber at 0.075 Torr (75 micron) which impressively places this chamber into medium vacuum category. The Vacuum loss rate (leak tightness) of this chamber is 50 microns per minute initially which later decreases and then levels off. Therefore, this chamber will not lose more than 5.25 Torr (0.2 inHg) in 24 hours.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank many of our satisfied customers who over the years have helped us build better chambers by providing us with invaluable cooperation and feedback. Their inputs not only helped us improve on already fantastic chambers we were building for them, they have also improved the product quality for our future customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What kind of vacuum pump should I use with this unit?
Any rotary vein pump (single stage or two stage) up to 7.5 CFM is ideal. A higher CFM pump will pull a faster desired vacuum level as opposed to a lower CFM pump. Keep in mind that the vacuum rating of this chamber is 0.075 Torr (75 micron), therefore any vacuum pump that has a vacuum rating of 0.075 Torr (75 micron) or less will work fine. We go in great detail explaining how to select a proper pump for your chamber, the article can be found here: Selecting a Proper Vacuum Pump for your Acrylic Vacuum Chamber

2. What is the strongest vacuum that can be achieved with this unit?
The vacuum level depends on the type of vacuum pump you plan to use with the unit. This chamber is rated at 0.075 Torr (75 micron), therefore a proper pump will enable a 0.075 Torr (75 micron) vacuum.

3. Do I need anything else in order to use this chamber?
The vacuum valve port is an 1/4 in NPT sized port, depending on how you would like to connect your vacuum pump to the chamber, you will have to purchase a hose (preferably vinyl reinforced), a barb (1/4 NPT male end to barb), and a couple of hose clamps from your local hardware store. However, if you contact us after you have placed your order and before we have shipped it, we will include a barb, two hose clamps, and about 5 feet reinforced vinyl hose as a customer courtesy.

4. Will the material I am degassing expand during operation?
Yes. To determine how much you can effectively degass at a time, we recommended that you first experiment with small amounts of material/liquids.

5. Can this chamber be heated?
Yes, many of our customers routinely heat these chambers. The chamber can safely be heated up to 110 F (43 C), in excess of that the user assumes all risk.

5. How come your chambers are better and cheaper than anything else out there? What`s the deal here?
It`s called vertical integration. We buy the acrylic material straight from the wholesaler, build-to-order the acrylic chamber in house, and sell it ourselves, effectively eliminating two middle men and a huge warehouse during this process. Not only are resources saved doing this, we also have full control over the design and manufacturing process meaning that you get the best acrylic vacuum chamber at the lowest cost and lead times.
