Description

Welch, Dry, Oil Free Vacuum Pump featuring WOB-L technology. This particular model number is 2581B-50. The free air flow rate is 3.5 CFM and the ultimate vacuum rating is 9 Torr or (29.5 inHg of Vacuum). This Pump comes with a power cord and a user manual. This is a very popular vacuum pump among laboratories, educational institutions, pharma, and biotech industries due to the fact that this pump is low maintenance and and oil free (dry) which can be used in indoor and closed rooms and environments without the risk of oil contamination. It does not come with connection hardware you will need to connect this vacuum pump your vacuum system. The Intake Port Thread of this pump is a 1/4 inch FNPT. Connected to this Intake port is a barb hose fitting for the 3/16 inch ID vacuum hose. To connect this pump to you vacuum system, you have two choices:

1. You can either connect a reinforce vinyl hose with 3/16 ID to the already present Barb Fitting.

2. You can unscrew the Barb Fitting and screw on your own fitting. Sometimes going from 3/16 inch ID hose to 1/4 inch ID hose will decrease your pump-down times by a factor of about 1.5.

Helium Leak Testing Systems
Helium Leak Testing Systems are instruments which detect leaks in specimen by detecting present of helium. Helium is used as a tracer gas to detect and quantify a leak. For example, a test specimen is filled with helium and placed into a test chamber, a vacuum is pulled and a helium mass spectrometer is connected to the test chamber. If helium is detected, it is due to the fact that it has escaped from the specimen through a leak path. Helium Leak Testing is a qualitative and quantitative method of detecting product leaks.
Ethernet Vacuum Feedthroughs
Ethernet Vacuum Feedthroughs are Vacuum Rated Ethernet connectors that enable you to run ethernet cables into your vacuum chamber. Simply connect your ethernet connector to the outside of the vacuum chamber and another ethernet cord from the inside and run it into your part present inside your vacuum chamber.
Our Work: High Altitude Vacuum Testing of Electrical Connectors and Components
This was an interesting project where one of our customers needed to test wires up to 44 inches long within a high altitude simulation environment. In addition to testing wires, several other electric connectors required altitude testing as well. The altitude requirements were 100,000 feet (30.510 km) which corresponds to 8.36 Torr - a piece of cake when it comes to the vacuum requirements of our chambers.
