Benefits of Using Sanatron Degassing Chamber Systems

We are a vacuum chamber manufacturer and have been making envisioning, designing, and building Vacuum Chambers, Leak Testing Systems, and Custom Turnkey Vacuum Solutions since 2008. Some of our happy clients include: many branches of the US Government, Google, SpaceX, Microsoft, Meta, Caterpillar, and close to all fortune 500 companies.

Buying Considerations and Availability of Degassing Systems

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum degassing chamber or a complete vacuum degassing system, there are several key factors to consider to ensure you get the right setup for your needs:

Size and Capacity:
Choose a chamber size that comfortably fits the items or the volume of material you plan to degas. Remember that liquids and mixtures can expand several times in volume when under vacuum, so the chamber should have extra space (at least 3–5 times the material's volume is a common guideline). For example, if you are degassing 1 liter of resin, a chamber that can hold 3 to 5 liters or more would prevent overflow during the foaming expansion. Sanatron offers over 50 Standard Vacuum Chamber sizes.

Sanatron has extensive design and manufacturing experience making custom sized acrylic and Stainless-Steel chambers that will most definitely meet your vacuum degassing needs.

Vacuum Pressure (Pump Capacity):
The effectiveness of degassing largely depends on achieving a strong vacuum. Look for a chamber and pump that can reach near-full vacuum, typically around 29 inches of mercury, or about 0.95 bar vacuum, and beyond. Many degassing applications require greater than 99% vacuum to really pull out the bubbles. Make sure to double check the vacuum pump specifications. A dual-stage rotary vane pumps are commonly used because they can attain a deeper vacuum than single-stage pumps. Also consider the pump's CFM (cubic feet per minute) rating. A higher CFM pump will evacuate the chamber faster, which is helpful for larger chambers or materials with short working time. A good vacuum gauge on the chamber is important so you know the pressure level achieved.

Fortunately, Sanatron has already done this homework for you and we have sourced the best and most appropriate vacuum Pump for your degassing application. Not only will you receive the most optimal vacuum pump, you will also receive a completely assembled degassing system which will include the inline filter (to protect the vacuum pump), exhaust mist eliminator (the minimize vacuum pump exhaust), and connection hardware (making it a complete system).

Material and Construction:
Degassing chambers are typically made from either stainless steel or acrylic (transparent plastic), or a combination of both (like a steel pot with an acrylic lid). Each material has its advantages. Acrylic chambers offer clear visibility of your material during degassing, allowing you to see when the bubbling has stopped, and are relatively affordable. However, acrylic is less durable with certain chemicals, can crack if mishandled, and may not be appropriate for some degassing applications. Metal chambers, on the other hand, are sturdier, handle chemicals and heat better, and hold higher vacuum levels reliably without permeation.

Stainless steel, for example, has exceptional chemical resistance and can be used for degassing solvents or reactive compounds. If your use involves observing the material, a chamber with a clear lid is useful and recommended. Ensure the chamber has a good seal to maintain good vacuum. Quality valves and fittings (usually brass or steel) also make the system easier to operate and more durable.

Sanatron offers both acrylic and stainless-steel degassing chamber systems. When performance, price, and quality matters, we offer the best of all worlds. Not only that, our degassing system does not require further assembly or part sourcing as it is fully setup and ready to go, just plug your vacuum pump in and you are ready to degas.

Additional Features:
Consider if you need any extra features. Some chambers come with built-in mixers or turntables for mixing under vacuum. Others might have heating elements if you need to degas at an elevated temperature (for instance, degassing viscous oils or doing vacuum drying). Ensure the chamber can safely handle any such requirements. Also, think about the ease of maintenance, a chamber with a removable lid and wide opening is easier to clean, especially if resin spills occur.

Not only does Sanatron offer all important features required for degassing operations as a standard, we also offer system integration and customizations. When you work with Sanatron, you can easily customize your degassing chamber system to includes wire, power, voltage, USB, Ethernet, Liquid, Gas, heater, cooling feedthroughs. Over the years, Sanatron has customized thousands of chambers and Vacuum Systems, including degassing chambers and we are confident that we will be able to make it work for you.
