Description

Sanatron Force Decay Leak Testing System is an instrument that will enable you to detect and quantify a leak via the force decay method. This instrument is a single channel instrument that enables you to test one specimen at a time. A force decay is a qualitative and a quantitative leak detection method.

The way a force decay test works is by inflating the specimen. This inflation is done by internally pressurizing the specimen through a pressurized air line or placing the specimen inside a vacuum chamber, pulling a vacuum, and generating a pressure differential. The pressurized specimen will swell up and apply force to the transducer. This transducer will measure the force applied and monitor the change in force over time. If there is not change in force, this means that there are no leaks since the pressure inside the specimen stayed constant. On the other hand, if the force applied by the sample decreased over a specified amount of time, you have a leak, this is because the air escaped through a leak path and hence decreased the pressure inside the sample which in turn decreased the force applied to a sample.

Please note that this instrument is not intended to be purchased as a standalone item but rather as a part of a whole leak testing assembly. Feel free to contact us to find out how you can implement a leak testing instrument into your quality control program.

Force Decay Leak Testing Systems
Force Decay Leak Testing Systems are instruments that detect and quantify leaks in a test specimen through measuring the drop in force an inflated specimen applied onto a pressure transducer. The specimen is placed into a vacuum chamber, a vacuum is pulled, and the test sample inflates. As the test sample inflates, it applied a specific force onto the force transducer. This force is measured and recorded over time. If a leak exists, the specimen will deflate and lose pressure, as a result, the force it applies onto the force transducer will decrease. This in turn will enable for detection and quantification of a leak in the specimen.
Rotary Vacuum Feedthroughs
Rotary Vacuum Feedthroughs are devices that will enable you to physically rotate a specimen inside the vacuum chamber while vacuum present without decreasing the vacuum.
Our Work: Vacuum Storage of Pharmaceutical Products and Medical Supplies
A pharmaceutical manufacturer contacted us to build them a large vacuum storage system for their pharmaceutical products. They were looking for as much footprint as possible which is why they got a two-chamber system from us. They needed a total of 6 shelves per chamber including trays. Finally, they were looking to have both chambers to be placed on a table frame assembly with lockable swivel casters. What you are seeing is a two chamber system, each chamber is our 20 inch cube acrylic vacuum chamber, front load hinged door. Each chamber can be accesses independently while the other is under vacuum. The trays can be easily loaded and unloaded. This whole system can also be moved to anywhere in their facility.
Related Articles: High Altitude Package Testing utilizing an Acrylic Vac Chamber
An Acrylic Vacuum Chamber can be used to simulate elevation very reliably to altitudes up to 60.9 km or 200,000 feet. This provides several advantages over other testing methods as acrylic is transparent and enables full view of interior during testing. In this article, we will give you a through guide on what can be done to eliminate the risk of packaging damage during shipments at high altitudes.
